Raman Bhasin
Among the smoothest characters I have seen on earth is Raman Bhasin.
I always got from him and never really gave much. He was very respectful and never showed any disrespect towards me that I did not deserve. I lived with him as friend for 11 years.
I remember Wajid (I may not remember his name correctly) in Hyderabad when I remember Raman. His sincerity to friendship is rare. He too never asked for anything except friendship without any material demand. I shamefully remember that he took me to Hyderabad markets for many hours to buy a replacement top of Ice bucket which did not buy because of price. I broke it at Koka Ravindra's party and promised to replace it. Kranti just merely pointed out to me I have spent Wajid Gas for INR 100 for evaluating INR10 Plastic Container Top.
Raman I met on my first day at ABC. He was errand boy Hari singh with remarkable personality. His commitment to his family and friends and his job that demanded too much. He never said no to any impossible to meet demand. Once after car repair we started to go home at late evening. When my car wrongly repaired for brake could not go even one mile. It took about 6 hours to reach home. I do not what I would have done was he not beside me.
Hari Singh was pursuing a tall Bengali Married Woman. Raman commented in a straight face about this non-matching couple.
When Toe to toe the nose is in. When Nose to nose, the toe is in.
One other unforgettable words of him:
bhagte huen langoti bhi acche
meaning, if you got the underpant of the thief you could not catch, you may celebrate
Another time he had an accident when he was going on a bike through narrow busy Atta Market in NOIDA. Two bulls were fighting and Raman was thrown into the road. I jokingly commented perhaps Raman's attention was elsewhere looking at some maiden.
Ever since I married to Kusum I have become color blind.
Kusum his wife was an Ex police.
I guess he has migrated to Australia and has changed his profession and become computer professional.
