chhorda's legacy

This I wrote recently to Jamaibabu.

These are witnessed facts:

Chhorda told me in hospital that he was prepared to spend INR 3 lacs every month for his treatment for more than 5 years. He did not need financial support. He retired in 2005 December and his salary was INR1.2 lacs. After retirement he was receiving INR 30000 as pension every month. Besides he came to know of his eligibility of medical expense and he applied for the same when i was there. He had above INR 2 crore in deposits. His accounts are not closed, nor bank is informed of his death. Some this was known to Didi. She corroborated with Chhordi in this matter. I kept aloof about whole thing and investigated only when Didi asked me to get involved. But then she asked me to remain aloof. She told me if Joy Shubha gets money from their Mashi what is wrong. Many cousins like Omoo and Chandra and others know about it. FD gets matured and they are being invested illegally. It is criminal activity going on. I asked for death certificate of Chhorda; after repeated pressure Chhordi admitted in voice message in my phone but not in writing that she has it. I shared this all my nephews including Pinaki Kar. Money transferred, or any bank transaction done after chhorda’s death is illegal. I closed the matter after this. I do not wish to be in contact till one of us is dead. I asked Didi why she got involved in this shameful act. They also spread story that Chhorda was suffering from TB and they did not wish to remain vicinity of chhorda. All disease if true has cure. All alternative arrangement for nurse flat etc were spoilt by both Didi and Chhordi and you. Didi tactfully did not go to hospital about progress made on the last day i was leaving but you went as witness to meet with chhorda when I was at airport. Chhordi is the same person who spread stories of Joya’s sister in law's death. She is unstoppable. Didi stays behind but corroborates. I also witnessed didi's storytelling in many occasions. standing in balcony she was talking to all in loud voice during soham's birth. and also after ma's death, she made lot of noise. Chhordi spreads and spreading for long time that I am mad. I bear my madness publicly. Chhordi also spread in isi that chhorda supports my family because I borrowed INR 40000 once and returned the same though in one year time. I had many court cases to recover pending payment of about INR 2 lacs. On Chhorda’s advice I did not pursue although Sonada was advising me to go on. During my stay in Kolkata, both of them went to give puja in some temple, so that Chhorda did not return from hospital. Chhordi needed Didi’s support to accomplish whatever she was doing. Didi willingly corroborated with their selfish motive. They spread so much rumor with help of Omoo that I along with many lifelong friends was prevented to meet him in hospital. I went with some test results given by madhu to Buron that Dr. Advani’s student said – it was wrong treatment. Joya’s elder brother having seen it he became wild, he said that in case I went any further, he would ask Kishor (Madhu) to remove Chhorda from his bed and keep him outside Nightingale! After Chhorda’s death he rang me up and said it must be a lot of relief for me that he was dead. I sent the same test report to Dr. Shankar Hom Choudhuri, my co-brother-in-law a pathologist in UK. He called me back saying. Chhorda did not have leukemia for which he was treated. Chhorda had at least 100 very near friends in Kolkata, it was his mistake not to bother them when he fell sick. He wrote me a very long letter about his hopeless situation. I did not write to him as such. It was about my disappointment of moral downturn I noticed in india and Kolkata addressed to at least 25 people. Anonymous from anonymous email address. God is good. He had very limited suffering. I dread to think what would happened if he was released from hospital. Because both Didi and Chhordi were looking for his money and did not at care and they would not allow any alternate arrangement of nurse or care or accommodation. They were absolutely against to live under the same roof. This TB story they not only told me and told many others in our family and outside. Fortunately, I could spend INR 45000 for Chhorda’s after death funeral activities. For me India and Kolkata have died forever. i do not keep any contact with joya's family when i came to know there involvement while chhorda was in hospital while I was engaged in making ready joya's flat. i know their dharma too and i bear as much as i bear all including me and my eccentricities.
